Your favorite game in the style of horror

Have you tried older Resident Evil games? Those are some of my favorite horror games ever. But they're not that scary in reality.

Silent Hill 2 (although I don't know if I could play it again), with Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the earth coming in second.

Silent Hill 2. I think this is the perfect example of pure psychological horror and dread. I didn't feel comfortable ONCE during the game and always dreaded finding enemies or seeing pyramidhead. The story alone holy shit.
