Thread: Change custom object

    Change custom object

I want to have a button that changes the diffuse image for a custom object. To do this, I tried using getCustomObject to get its information, changing the diffuse, and then using setCustomObject. However, the change doesn't actually take effect unless I right click on the object and re-import from the custom object window. Is there a way to use the script to force it to import the new image? I want the object to be non-interactable, so the host won't be able to right click on it and import the new image.

As a workaround, you can destruct() the existing object, respawn it and then use setCustomObject with the new diffuse image. That will force TTS to redraw it.

I thought of that too, but I was hoping there would be a less workaroundy way to do it. I guess I'll just go with this for now.
