Thread: Seeking a 3D Square Frame

    Seeking a 3D Square Frame

Many Mods use a ring-shaped slider that the players move to keep track of numbers and the like. I am seeking a square frame, rather than round (like a square doughnut). This would allow players to see the text underneath more easily -- through the center of the frame. If anyone knows where I might find a mesh.obj like this, I would be grateful. I have actually see one on the net at:

But I do not see how to acquire the mesh. Hope someone out there has a source. Thank You.

Let me know what dimension you want and I make you one...its just a couple of minutes work.

So in TTS scale estimate the internal and external square size, the thickness whether it has rounded or sharpe corners and anything else you thinks it needs to best fit your game

Thank you Lucky seven. Using the units of 'Object.Position' measure, the frame I would like to use is a 2 x 2 square with a .35 (point three five) height. All of the faces could be rounded or flat, whatever is easiest. The only visual I can think of is: If you wrapped an extra-thick spaghetti noddle around a sugar cube one time, let it dry, then took away the sugar cube. You would be left with a square frame with rounded corners with a hole in the center. Best I can do. I am really looking forward to seeing this model. Thank you very much.

The object named 'hole-square.stl' at this url is similar to what I am looking for.

    Hey TattleTale

I've put together a few different versions As I'm not sure how thick the frame needs to be.

I've also included a UV map for each one in case you intend to do something more than just tint them.

Let me know if these don't cover what you were after and we will take another run at it for you.

Lucky seven, this is more than I could have hoped for. Any of these would have worked, but I chose meRounded2. I was able to put the .obj into my Saturday-night game at the last minute. I can't thank you enough; it is a subtle change, but ease of use and clear visual information for the players are what makes TTS work. Thx Again!
