I'm trying to set up a wireless LAN game in a place where Steam can't be accessed. I've taken two clients with Steam in offline mode and run TTS with one as the host and the other using direct connect to IP. They keep trying to connect through Steam anyway and give me this error and others: Steam session ticket timed out (Steam might be down). One will connect to the other, but they desync immediately and have all sorts of problems. It was unplayable.

Direct connect should not be dependent upon Steam...

I have good IP connectivity between the laptops, and tested with firewalls off to make sure that wasn't the issue. On the server settings, I have NAT and proxy both disabled on the host.
