Finding a draggable Global Custom UI element position

I have a draggable (and it must remain so) Global Custom UI element.

When it's clicked, it opens (i.e. makes visible) another Global Custom UI element - a kind of submenu. I'd like this element to be positioned relative to the original dragged element, but I only seem to be able to get the pointer position as a Unity vector, not any kind of offsetXY usable by the custom UI.

Is there a way to get this?

(Also, UI.setAttribute(string, "position", string) seems to have no effect at all.

unfortunately I have not really played with the XML stuff .. so I can not help.. sorry.

I don't have TTS in front of me at the moment so I can't confirm but I believe there is a getXML() or similar method that can be called. This *may* contain the info you are looking for.

That was a neat idea, and it was worth a look... sadly the XML it reports is not live: it only reports offsetXY as defined earlier and doesn't update after dragging.
